Nokia has filed patent infringement lawsuits against four prominent brands within the Geely Group—Zeekr, Lynk & Co, Lotus, and Smart—alleging violations of essential patents in cellular communications technology. Specifically, Nokia claims infringement of patents EP3799333 (related to 4G/5G preamble sequence allocation) and EP4090075 (pertaining to 5G beam switching technology). This legal action encompasses 32 Geely subsidiaries across 18 European countries. According to Nokia, Geely has consistently declined offers for fair and reasonable patent licensing agreements.
