Momenta has announced the successful activation and installation of its proprietary autonomous driving chip in vehicles, marking a significant milestone in its technological advancement. The performance of this chip is on par with that of NVIDIA Orin-X and Qualcomm 8650, while its hardware interface closely resembles that of Qualcomm 8650, facilitating a swift transition towards mass production. Post-launch, this chip is expected to slash the cost of Momenta's urban autonomous driving solutions to below 5,000 yuan.
Currently, the IM Motors Germany project, in which Momenta plays a pivotal role, is poised for mass production and delivery. Furthermore, Robotaxi test vehicles, a collaboration between Momenta and Uber, have already commenced operations on German roads. Additionally, the company has attracted an impressive roster of over a dozen former HiSilicon executives to its ranks.
Should subsequent testing proceed smoothly, Momenta will emerge as a formidable autonomous driving supplier with integrated software and hardware capabilities, thereby substantially bolstering its competitive edge in the market.
