For many years, Samsung and LG have dominated the market as the primary suppliers of iPhone panels. However, BOE has faced significant hurdles in securing priority supply from Apple, primarily due to challenges in manufacturing and quality control. Amidst the looming threat of a potential 25% tariff on the iPhone 17 series imposed by Trump, Apple is contemplating the inclusion of a third manufacturer in its supply chain to mitigate risks. Nonetheless, data reveals that BOE's OLED shipments fall considerably short of those of Samsung and LG. Specifically, Samsung and LG are anticipated to ship 113 million units this year, whereas BOE's shipments are less than half of that figure. Consequently, Apple encounters challenges in identifying viable alternative suppliers.
