The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has formally accepted the application for the type certificate of the passenger-grade electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft LE200, developed by Hefei Lanyi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. This milestone signifies a significant step towards the realization of the vision of "air taxis" zipping through urban landscapes. The LE200, designed to accommodate up to 5 passengers, boasts a cruise speed of 200 kilometers per hour, making it ideal for various urban air mobility scenarios. The company anticipates obtaining the type certificate by the end of 2027, with market deliveries scheduled to commence in 2028.
