Recently, a recall of several brands of power banks has been initiated due to the discovery of metal contaminants introduced during the battery production process. These contaminants pose potential risks of overheating and even combustion. In response, the Civil Aviation Administration has imposed a ban on carrying power banks without CCC certification and those that have been recalled on domestic flights. The metal contaminants could stem from various sources, including raw materials, wear and tear of production equipment, or inadequate cleanliness in the manufacturing workshop. When these contaminants enter the battery cell, they can puncture the separator, leading to short circuits, thermal runaway, and ultimately, safety accidents.
