The Civil Aviation Administration has issued an emergency notice, effective from June 28, prohibiting the carriage of power banks lacking 3C certification, exhibiting unclear 3C markings, or being subject to recall on domestic flights. This year has witnessed a surge in incidents involving power banks catching fire or emitting smoke. Several renowned brands have recalled their products due to safety concerns related to battery cells, and some 3C certifications have been temporarily suspended. The notice mandates airport security departments to intensify inspections to prevent the boarding of non-compliant power banks and to offer services for passengers to dispose of or temporarily store their devices. These measures primarily stem from the recalls initiated by Romoss and Anker Innovation. Additionally, several express delivery companies have halted the acceptance of problematic power banks.
