Anker Innovation (Anker) is currently grappling with a crisis of trust stemming from the 'spontaneous combustion' risk associated with several models of its portable chargers. The company has recently issued a statement announcing the recall of seven models of portable chargers: A1642, A1647, A1652, A1680, A1681, A1689, and A1257, amounting to approximately 712,900 units. The recall is necessitated by unauthorized alterations in the raw materials of certain batches of battery cells supplied by the manufacturer, which could potentially lead to diaphragm insulation failure in a minuscule number of products after extended use. This failure could result in overheating or even combustion, posing a safety hazard. The recall is intended to mitigate these risks.
