iPadOS 26 introduces a substantial enhancement to the Stage Manager feature, broadening its reach to encompass more iPad models. Now compatible with iPad Air (3rd generation and newer), iPad mini (5th generation and newer), and iPad (8th generation and newer), this update ensures that robust multitasking capabilities are available across the board. Older models can handle up to four apps simultaneously, while newer devices enjoy unlimited multitasking. Drawing inspiration from macOS, the new system interface introduces intuitive window controls, a menu bar, and other familiar elements, all while offering users the flexibility to revert to the original mode if desired. These improvements significantly bolster the iPad's productivity potential. The developer beta version is currently available, with the official release anticipated this fall.
