In alignment with the European Union's (EU) Energy Labeling and Ecodesign Regulations, which commenced on June 20, Apple has incorporated EPREL energy efficiency labels onto the iPhone and iPad pages in the EU market. Additionally, the company has pledged to include printed versions of these labels with product sales. The EPREL label encompasses seven key indicators, with energy efficiency class being a prominent one. Acknowledging ambiguities in certain EU testing methodologies, Apple has voluntarily chosen to downgrade the energy efficiency class of certain iPhone models to Grade B. This preemptive move aims to prevent potential discrepancies in third-party ratings that might arise from differing interpretations of the regulations.
