The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) announces its intent to undertake a comprehensive national surveillance and random inspection program for product quality in 2025. This initiative will encompass 164 diverse product categories, involving over 16,000 sample batches. The scope of these inspections will prioritize essential goods closely tied to people's daily lives, encompassing children's and students' supplies, power banks, electric bicycles, among others. Additionally, it will extend to emerging products such as power batteries and drones. Recognizing the growing significance of online commerce, SAMR will intensify its scrutiny on products sold via digital platforms. The administration pledges to promptly disclose inspection results and publicize cases of non-compliance, thereby safeguarding consumer safety and trust.
