Upon the release of Nintendo's latest console, the Nintendo Switch 2 (NS2), in the United States, a concerning issue arose when several players reported that the screens of their NS2s had been inadvertently damaged by staples. In response, the retailer involved, GameStop, has issued an internal announcement prohibiting the use of staples for securing receipts to product packaging. This measure aims to prevent any recurrence of such incidents. Prior to this announcement, employees at certain GameStop stores had been stapling receipts directly onto the front of the packaging boxes, leading to screen damage on some newly purchased consoles by unsuspecting players.
