During the first quarter of 2025, global smartphone production totaled 289 million units, marking a 3% year-over-year decline. Nonetheless, the production landscape remained relatively stable. Samsung reclaimed the lead with 64 million units manufactured, followed closely by Apple with 48 million units and Xiaomi in third place with 42 million units. OPPO, vivo, and Transsion rounded out the top six positions, respectively. Due to inventory adjustments and shifting market demands, most brands experienced a month-on-month production decline. As we look ahead to the second quarter, amid international uncertainties, major brands are adopting conservative production strategies, with expectations pointing towards a production level similar to that of the first quarter.
