Microsoft and ASUS have collaborated to introduce the Xbox Ally handheld console, a device that falls under ASUS's esteemed ROG series. This move suggests that the Xbox handheld console project has been temporarily suspended. Instead, Microsoft is focused on enhancing the Windows system's performance on handheld devices, potentially introducing an official emulator in the future to broaden support for Xbox games. The president of Xbox emphasized that this shift aims to deliver an Xbox experience on the move, underlining that any Windows-powered handheld device could potentially evolve into an Xbox handheld. Furthermore, Microsoft plans to release a Windows Xbox GUI specifically tailored for handheld devices and to launch multiple games, including a remake of "Halo" and new installments in the "Gears of War" franchise. Notably, "The Outer Worlds 2" has become the first Xbox platform game priced at $80 and will be available on the XGP service from its launch day.
