The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Affairs, has jointly issued a notice outlining a pilot program for the research, development, and application of intelligent elderly care service robots from 2025 to 2027. The notice emphasizes the importance of addressing three key elderly care service scenarios: homes, communities, and institutions, while also focusing on the core needs of caring for individuals with disabilities and dementia, as well as providing emotional support. To enhance the effectiveness of these robot products, specific requirements have been set forth:

  • Home care service robots must undergo verification in at least 200 households and deploy a minimum of 200 units.
  • Community and institutional robots must be verified in no fewer than 20 communities or 20 institutions, with a deployment of at least 20 units each. Additionally, the application verification period must exceed six months.
