During the first quarter of 2025, smartphone shipments in Latin America witnessed a 4% decline year-over-year, amassing a total of 33.7 million units. Samsung emerged as the market leader with 11.9 million units shipped, closely followed by Xiaomi with 5.9 million units. Within specific markets, Samsung led the Brazilian segment while Xiaomi secured the third position. In Mexico, Samsung maintained its top spot, with Xiaomi coming in second. Notably, Xiaomi claimed the top spot in both the Colombian and Peruvian markets. Regarding brand performance, Samsung and Xiaomi demonstrated notable growth in shipments, contrasting with Motorola's decline and Transsion's first-ever dip in the region.
