On June 3, the latest research from Canalys revealed that global smartphone shipments reached 296.9 million units in the first quarter of 2025, but growth significantly decelerated, recording a mere 0.2% increase. This stagnation is primarily attributed to the waning of the phased peak in smartphone replacements and manufacturers' adjustments to inventory strategies. Consequently, the market growth rate has contracted for three consecutive quarters. Samsung led the pack with shipments of 60.5 million units, while Apple followed closely with 55 million units, securing a 19% market share and the second spot. Xiaomi maintained its third position with 41.8 million units, holding steady at a 14% market share. vivo and OPPO rounded out the top five, with shipments of 22.9 million units and 22.7 million units, respectively.
