Apple is rapidly expanding its manufacturing footprint in India, with two new factories set to churn out iPhones. Tata Electronics, located in Tamil Nadu, has already commenced production of older iPhone models. Meanwhile, Foxconn's new factory in Karnataka is anticipated to commence shipments in May and create 50,000 jobs once it reaches full-scale production in 2027. Foxconn aims to manufacture 25 to 30 million iPhones in India this year, marking a doubling of its output. Apple has a goal to shift all iPhone assembly operations destined for the US market to India by 2026, though it still heavily relies on China for production.
