On March 15, a harrowing incident unfolded in a household in Tangshan, Hebei Province, as an electric dining table unexpectedly exploded. Surveillance footage captured the dramatic moment when sparks erupted from the table, accompanied by a thunderous blast, and flames shot straight up towards the ceiling. Fortunately, no one was seated at the table during the incident, and the family was able to extinguish the remaining flames using a fire blanket. According to Mr. Fang, the table's owner, the dining table was purchased roughly six to seven years ago for approximately 30,000 yuan. He speculated that the fire was the result of a battery malfunction within the table, and expressed concern that such dining tables could pose a significant safety risk.
