According to market research firm IDC, global smartphone shipments are forecasted to hit 1.26 billion units by 2025, marking a 2.3% increase year-on-year. Within the Chinese market, spurred by government subsidies and the surge in device upgrade demand, Android devices are anticipated to witness a robust 2.5% year-on-year growth, surpassing the iOS system by a significant margin of over 1.4 times. Conversely, iOS shipments in China are projected to decline by 1.9%, although they are expected to experience a 1.8% growth globally. Furthermore, the average selling price (ASP) of global smartphones is predicted to edge up slightly to $434 by 2025. Over the next five years, smartphone shipments are expected to maintain a steady, single-digit growth trajectory with a compound annual growth rate of 1.6%. Android is poised to dominate the market, while iOS will rely on emerging markets and high-end models to sustain its competitiveness. The ASP of smartphones, meanwhile, is anticipated to remain relatively stable.
