CounterPoint Research, a leading market analysis firm, has recently unveiled a report forecasting a 5% growth in the global sales of refurbished smartphones in 2024. Apple continues to solidify its leading position with a commanding 56% market share. Despite the scarcity of new iPhone supplies, which has resulted in a decline in the average selling price of refurbished models, the percentage of 5G phones in the refurbished market has soared from 28% to 42%. Apple's growth is largely fueled by the strong demand for older models like the iPhone 11 and 12. Additionally, the limited availability of new iPhone models has steered more consumers towards the second-hand market in search of more budget-friendly options.
