The recently concluded 2025 Global Developer Pioneer Conference highlighted service robots as its main attraction. Unlike humanoid robots, Chinese service robots have successfully ventured into overseas markets, leveraging their advanced and well-established applications. According to an IDC consulting report, global shipments of smart sweeping robots reached 5.014 million units in the third quarter of 2024, with Chinese manufacturers capturing nearly half of this market. In contrast to the nascent markets for humanoid and industrial robots, the path for Chinese service robots to expand internationally has become well-trodden. Li Junlan, Research Manager at IDC China, emphasized that service robots capitalize on the price advantage stemming from mature industrial chains, combined with diverse domestic application scenarios, to achieve a significant scale. Through continuous product iteration and intelligent experience enhancements, they are fostering new competitive edges in international markets.
