Canalys' latest report uncovers a significant upturn in the European smartphone market, excluding Russia, with shipments increasing by 5% in 2024. This marks the end of a four-year period of decline. Samsung has solidified its leading position in the European market, achieving a 6% increase in shipments to reach 46.4 million units for the year. Apple, bolstered by the launch of the iPhone 16 series and continued strong demand for the iPhone 13 and 14, secured the top vendor spot in the fourth quarter, with annual shipments rising 1% to 34.9 million units. Xiaomi maintained stable shipments at 22.2 million units, while Motorola saw a remarkable 26% surge in shipments, surpassing the 8 million mark. OPPO (including OnePlus) recorded a 13% growth in shipments, reaching 4.1 million units. Furthermore, the European premium smartphone segment thrived in 2024, with shipments of devices priced at $800 and above exceeding 41 million units, primarily fueled by Apple and Samsung.
