Nov 7 — Graphics cards, primarily used for graphics rendering and now increasingly for AI computing, had surged for 11 consecutive trading days, driven by rumors of overseas production halts affecting RTX 50 series cards. Starting Oct 28, the market took a sudden downturn, with the RTX 5080 dropping from a peak of nearly 20,000 yuan to 16,000 yuan — a 20% price correction. Some merchants said that distributors and retailers stockpiling in advance caused large price swings, with noticeable differences even between morning and evening quotes. Despite the pullback, the average price of mainstream RTX 50 series cards remains 1.7 times the suggested retail price, and the earlier sharp increase has yet to be fully absorbed. Huaqiangbei's hardware price trends have also drawn attention from overseas buyers. Recently, overseas merchants have been visiting stores intensively to inquire about prices, and cross-border procurement of hardware such as graphics cards and memory has notably picked up. Some merchants said that in October, sales to foreign customers accounted for more than 50% of their total.
