In the third quarter of 2026, global tablet shipments dropped 23% year over year to 32 million units, reaching a near three-year low and marking the second straight quarter of double-digit declines. Tightening supply constraints pushed tablets lower on manufacturers' priority lists, and no meaningful market recovery is expected before 2028. Among vendors, Apple shipped about 11.6 million units—twice the volume of the runner-up—though its share slipped to 36%. Samsung came in second with 5.4 million units and a 16.9% share. Lenovo was the only one of the top five to post growth, shipping roughly 4.1 million units, up 12% year over year, with its share climbing to 12.7%—the largest gain of any vendor this quarter. Xiaomi ranked fourth with 2.3 million units and a 7.3% share, while Huawei rounded out the top five with 1.8 million units.
