Google has disclosed a large-scale security incident within the Android TV ecosystem: an officially certified device manufacturer had been pre-installing hidden backdoors for an extended period and selling access to third parties for malware distribution. Following an investigation, Google has completely terminated its cooperation with the company and taken legal action to shut down the related malicious network infrastructure.
