In the wee hours of today, Apple officially released the iOS 27.2 system update. Now, users on the Chinese mainland can find a new option titled "Restrict Motion Data" in their system settings. To access it, navigate to: Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness → Restrict Motion Data → Edit (Customize App List). Users have the ability to manually add specific apps to this restriction list, thereby blocking their access to motion data. This effectively puts an end to the automatic ad redirects that were previously triggered by apps reading accelerometer and gyroscope signals. It's worth noting that this feature is available exclusively to users in the Chinese mainland and requires logging in with a Chinese Apple ID. Additionally, the update brings improvements to Siri AI's memory and contextual understanding abilities, optimizes several built-in apps, and resolves over 160 security vulnerabilities.
