On October 26th, reports surfaced indicating that during the inaugural week of Apple's first foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo, numerous instances of screen malfunctions were observed on social media platforms. These failures are suspected to be linked to the hinge mechanism. A journalist received information from a Foxconn employee, confirming that the screen failures are consistent with the aforementioned speculation. The employee further disclosed that amidst constrained production capacities, Apple had relaxed its yield inspection criteria to maintain supply continuity, thereby heightening the probability of defective units with screen issues reaching the market.
In response to this challenge, the iPhone Duo production line has swiftly implemented material substitutions. Presently, production operations remain uninterrupted, and the inventory management strategy remains unchanged. According to distribution channel sources, the projected inventory for the iPhone Duo this year is anticipated to reach 7.5 million units.
