Whispers of forthcoming enhancements to Apple's next-generation MacBook Pro are circulating. The latest scoop reveals that the much-awaited OLED Touch Bar MacBook Pro is still on track for a release later this year. However, the envisioned 'lighter and thinner' design might only materialize partially. While the device is expected to shed some weight, the reduction in body thickness may not be as pronounced as initially hoped.

Originally, this model was slated for a launch window spanning from the close of this year to the dawn of 2027. It was set to boast an OLED touch screen, a Dynamic Island design, and the pioneering M5 Pro or M5 Max chip, potentially dubbed the 'MacBook Ultra.'

Nevertheless, the release has been rescheduled to early 2027, owing to a scarcity of high-end memory chips and pricing recalibrations across Apple's product lineup. Moreover, high-end variants will bypass the M6 series chip and leapfrog directly to the M7 series.
