On October 8th, Microsoft (MSFT.O) announced the pricing and availability of its new flagship laptop, the Surface Laptop Ultra, which features an NVIDIA chip. Microsoft executives stated at an event held in San Francisco that the device outperforms Apple's similar products in executing certain AI tasks. Specifically, when running local models, the Surface Laptop Ultra returns prompt request results twice as fast as the Apple MacBook Pro M5 and generates videos six times faster. The Surface Laptop Ultra is set to ship soon, with a starting price of $2599, approximately $400 less than the entry-level 16-inch MacBook Pro. The new Surface is equipped with an NVIDIA chip that supports both general-purpose and AI computing. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella attended the event together to discuss the development of this new PC chip. Huang stated, 'We have completely reinvented the personal computer.'
