ASUS China recently updated its official instructions for graphics card installation, detailing mandatory requirements for installing and removing graphics cards, including steps such as powering off, inserting the card, connecting power cables, and removal. It specifically highlights the power connectors and slot latches as common trouble spots. ASUS explicitly requires that the power must be turned off and the power cable unplugged before installing or removing a graphics card. Dell's simultaneously released guide for replacing components in Alienware systems also mandates the same power-off requirement and emphasizes the use of ESD anti-static devices during operation.
