On October 1, leaks emerged suggesting that Apple’s much-anticipated smart home hub will boast multiple standby interfaces, some of which bear a resemblance to the StandBy mode designed for the iPhone Duo. The source of the leak shared a screenshot showcasing the device’s ‘photo interface’ settings, which enable users to select from various photo collections, memories, or shared albums. These photos will be displayed on the screen through iCloud. The device is anticipated to feature a 6-inch screen, an appearance reminiscent of an iPad, and a base with a hemispherical metal design akin to that of the iMac G4. Earlier reports have indicated that the device will support apps and widgets for calendar, weather, music, messages, and reminders, but will not include a full-fledged App Store. Apple’s smart home hub may be officially announced on October 13.
