At the Microsoft Industry Summit, LG Electronics unveiled a cutting-edge smart home AI voice assistant, developed in partnership with Microsoft. This innovative assistant will be seamlessly integrated into LG's smart home hub, ThinQ ON, leveraging advanced voice-to-voice agent technology and Microsoft's Voice Live features. It enables users to interrupt the conversation at any point, prompting the system to swiftly redirect the dialogue. This effectively tackles the common problems faced by traditional voice assistants, such as sluggish response times and an inability to adapt to changes in conversation flow. According to officials, this new technology offers a conversational experience that closely mimics human interaction. The ThinQ ON model incorporating this capability is set to be released this year, with existing users having the option to upgrade through software updates. LG is also expanding its horizons to include commercial spaces like hotels, offices, and retail stores, with plans for a simultaneous rollout in both residential and commercial environments.
