On September 25th, EHang Intelligence, the sole eVTOL company invited to participate, recently traveled to Phuket Island with a delegation that included Manat Chavanaprayoon, the Director General of Thailand’s Civil Aviation Authority. Alongside government representatives, such as Chotinrin Kerdsom, the newly appointed governor of Phuket Province, they convened a dedicated meeting focused on sustainable transportation and the low-altitude economy in Phuket. During this gathering, the three entities pinpointed the inaugural low-altitude sandbox test flight site on Phuket Island and established a special task force. This group will oversee critical responsibilities, including identifying take-off and landing zones, planning flight paths, securing operational licenses, and ensuring flight safety—all aimed at expediting the deployment of autonomous eVTOL technology across Phuket Island.
