On September 23, Goldman Sachs adjusted its global smartphone shipment forecasts, projecting 1.1 billion units to be shipped in 2026 and 1.2 billion units each in 2027 and 2028. Despite the decline in shipment expectations, driven by rising prices and high-end models, the global smartphone market size is projected to reach USD 624 billion in 2026 and increase to USD 674 billion in 2028. Goldman Sachs is optimistic about foldable phones, expecting shipments to reach 77 million units by 2028.
