Apple announced that the Tap to Pay feature for iPhones has been expanded to eight Latin American countries, including Argentina and Colombia, with support from six local payment platforms. This feature enables merchants to accept in-person contactless payments using just a compatible iPhone and a corresponding payment app, without the need for additional equipment. It supports contactless debit and credit cards from major payment networks such as American Express, Mastercard, and Visa. Since its initial launch in the United States in February 2022, the feature has been expanded to 59 countries and regions, with over 100 payment service providers worldwide offering support.
