The US Version of iPhone 18 Pro Max Doesn't Come with Apple's C2 Modem

On September 22, after Apple launched its iPhone 18 Pro series, the long-standing question regarding whether the US version of the iPhone 18 Pro Max would incorporate Apple's in-house C2 modem finally got an answer. A teardown conducted by TechInsights unveiled that this particular model opts for Qualcomm's Snapdragon SDX80M 5G modem, rather than Apple's own C2. On Apple's official specifications page, it's indicated that the US version of the iPhone 18 Pro is equipped with the 'Apple C2 cellular modem.' In contrast, the equivalent section for the Pro Max model is left unlabeled. Nevertheless, both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max variants available in markets like Canada, the UK, France, and India are clearly marked as having the C2 modem.
