Apple is developing an iPhone anti-snatch auto-lock feature with the internal codename "AutoLock," which remains inactive in iOS 27.2 Beta2. This feature determines whether a device has been snatched by analyzing signals such as sudden acceleration, disconnection from a paired Apple Watch, prolonged loss of internet connectivity, and extended device unlocking. To minimize false triggers, the feature incorporates mechanisms like biometric verification and foreground app activity monitoring, and employs a voting mechanism for decision-making. Additionally, it includes a location-based judgment assistance mechanism similar to that of "Stolen Device Protection." Currently, only the underlying services for this feature are enabled in the background, while the actual locking components remain inactive.
