On September 21, Google unveiled its new line of laptops, the Googlebook, with a starting price set at $899. This move marks Google's formal entry into the high-end notebook market, primarily targeting Android phone users and programmers. Through the Googlebook, Google aims to make its Gemini AI assistant a central experience for users when using laptops. Google is attempting to build a notebook ecosystem tailored for high-end Android phone users, offering a collaborative experience similar to that between Apple's MacBook and iPhone, to enhance inter-device connectivity. Although the entry price of the Googlebook is lower than the $1,299 MacBook Air, Google has made it clear that the product is not a replacement for Chromebooks, nor does it seek to become a general-purpose notebook for all users.
