Recently, the team led by Professor Wang Guoxing and Assistant Researcher Chen Cheng from the School of Integrated Circuits at Shanghai Jiao Tong University has made a pivotal technological advancement in the realm of photoelectric pulse wave sensing and wearable digital health. For the first time, the team has uncovered the complementary functions of left and right pulse signals in the AI-based monitoring of physiological indicators, such as blood pressure and heart rate. They have also successfully developed the world's inaugural high-quality, large-scale dataset of bilateral smart ring photoelectric pulse waves. Moreover, the team has introduced a multi-task bilateral AI learning framework, opening up a novel research avenue for bolstering the reliability of intelligent monitoring in wearable devices. The related research findings have been published in a paper titled "Large-scale bilateral cardiovascular monitoring via wearable rings".
