Samsung Electronics is making substantial reductions in its QLED TV production. Currently, the output has plummeted by 80%, and the company anticipates that production will dwindle to a range of 2 to 3 million units by 2026. This year, Samsung has ceased the production of its high-end entry-level QLED products, redirecting its efforts towards Mini LED models. Simultaneously, it is progressively scaling down its high-end Neo QLED lineup, with plans to discontinue it as early as 2028. The shipment plan for QD TVs this year has been slashed to less than 30% of the initial projection. Moreover, Neo QLED production will be cut in half next year and will be gradually phased out over time. Looking ahead, Samsung may fully embrace Mini LED technology as a substitute for QLED and will gradually upgrade Neo QLED to incorporate RGB Mini LED.
