Repair website iFixit recently released a complete teardown report and video of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, providing a detailed look at the internal construction of Apple's new generation flagship smartphones. The teardown confirmed the actual battery capacities of both models and revealed internal design changes such as a variable aperture camera, a larger VC vapor chamber, and a dual-layer motherboard. However, iFixit also discovered that the plastic bezel surrounding the new phone's screen appears to be more prone to damage compared to the previous generation. Among the four iPhone 18 Pro units torn down, three experienced cracking or separation of the white plastic bezel around the screen during disassembly. Although the screens themselves remained fully functional, the damaged bezels could potentially lead to improper sealing upon reassembly, thereby compromising the overall water resistance of the devices. Nevertheless, due to the limited sample size, it remains inconclusive whether this is a widespread issue.
