During the first half of 2026, China's PC monitor market witnessed shipments totaling 14.3 million units, marking a marginal year-on-year decrease of 2.2%. The market landscape was characterized by structural differentiation, with a significant disparity of over 15 percentage points in growth rates between the commercial and consumer sectors. Specifically, the commercial market reported shipments of 7.7 million units, experiencing a 5.7% year-on-year increase. This growth was primarily fueled by the centralized procurement of desktops by governmental bodies and large enterprises. However, the procurement enthusiasm among small and medium-sized enterprises remained subdued, hinting at a potential slowdown in subsequent growth. Furthermore, the impending price hikes by manufacturers in August are anticipated to disrupt shipment volumes in the latter half of the year.

On the consumer front, shipments reached 6.6 million units, reflecting a 10.1% year-on-year decline. This downturn was attributed to the lingering effects of last year's national subsidies, which had prematurely stimulated demand, coupled with the escalating prices and scarcity of graphics cards and memory components. Notably, gaming monitor shipments experienced a modest 1.0% year-on-year uptick, capturing a 38.6% market share. Manufacturers are strategically pivoting towards mid-to-high-end products, curtailing low-end offerings, and prioritizing the launch of innovative products such as OLED displays.

At present, the escalating costs of graphics cards and memory continue to dampen demand, while chip price surges have inflated production expenses. Nevertheless, the fierce competition in the terminal market has hindered the ability to pass on these cost increases to consumers, potentially resulting in price inversions for low-end products. Concurrently, the expansion of high-end panel production capacity heralds promising prospects for premium displays, particularly OLEDs, with OLED monitor shipments projected to double in 2026.

The market's top five vendors—AOC, Lenovo, HKC, Huawei, and Philips—exhibited varying performances across different market segments.
