On August 31 local time, MacRumors reported that MapQuest became a focal point of public opinion after refusing to follow an executive order signed by U.S. President Trump last week to rename 'Lake Ontario' as 'Lake America' on its maps. As of Monday morning, the MapQuest app ranked first on the free iPhone app chart in the Canadian Apple App Store and fourth on the equivalent chart in the United States.
