On August 26, 2026, at Gamescom held in Cologne, Germany, Samsung introduced its latest P series portable SSDs, namely the high-performance P9 and the practical P7, both equipped with USB4 interfaces. The P9 model stands out with its remarkable sequential read and write speeds of 4000MB/s and 3800MB/s, respectively. It also supports direct 12K recording, making it the world's first USB4 portable SSD to reach transfer speeds of 4000MB/s at an 8TB capacity. Meanwhile, the P7 model prioritizes durability, having successfully undergone 2-meter drop tests and shock resistance evaluations. These two models come in a variety of capacities, ranging from 1TB to 8TB, and are set to be launched globally on August 31.
