On August 25, 2026, Apple unveiled the latest iteration of the Mac mini, bypassing the M5 chip and directly incorporating the M6 and M5 Pro chips. The M6 chip boasts a 12-core CPU and a 12-core GPU, elevating AI performance by up to 400% compared to its predecessor. It also doubles the graphics processing speed and comes with 16GB of unified memory, which can be upgraded to 32GB. In contrast, the M5 Pro chip is configured with up to an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU, supporting up to 64GB of unified memory and boasting a memory bandwidth of 307GB/s, tailored for demanding workloads.

Both models are equipped with cutting-edge connectivity options, including Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and 2.5Gb Ethernet (with an optional 10Gb upgrade). They feature a front-facing USB-C port and a high-impedance headphone jack. The rear of the M6 version is fitted with three Thunderbolt 4 ports, while the M5 Pro version is upgraded to Thunderbolt 5 ports. The new Mac mini will be available for pre-order starting August 27 and will officially launch on September 22, with the starting price yet to be announced.
