Apple Maps has officially introduced advertisements in both the United States and Canada. For iPhone and iPad users, this means encountering ads marked with a distinct blue "Ad" label while searching for locations or browsing through "Recommended Places." At present, there's no way to disable these ads. However, it's noteworthy that user interaction data with these ads will remain detached from their Apple accounts and won't be shared with any third parties.
Apple first revealed its intentions to incorporate this feature back in March of this year and initiated its rollout towards the end of summer. Prior to this launch, Apple laid the groundwork through various strategies, including iOS updates, making enterprise ad slots available, and introducing ad credit incentives. Additionally, Apple has been selective about the types of ads that can be displayed, ensuring a certain level of quality and relevance.
