In the wake of its ongoing antitrust litigation with Epic Games, Apple has presented a fresh commission framework to a US court. The proposed model entails imposing a commission rate ranging from 5% to 15% on transactions that circumvent the App Store, with rates varying by category. Previously, following a series of legal skirmishes, Apple was held in contempt of court in 2025 for breaching an injunction. Subsequently, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals granted Apple the leeway to levy a reasonable commission. Fast forward to July 2026, the Supreme Court agreed to hear Apple's appeal. Meanwhile, Epic Games has vowed to persist in its legal battle, so long as the commission rate remains above the zero mark.
