The iPhone 18 series has officially commenced mass production this month, with production capacity steadily ramping up. In response, Foxconn’s Zhengzhou plant is actively seeking new workers to meet the escalating production demands. In the second quarter of 2026, the overall shipments in the Chinese smartphone market witnessed a 2% year-on-year decline. However, iPhone shipments surged by 23% year-on-year, securing an 18% market share and ranking second, trailing only behind Huawei. Owing to price hikes by Android manufacturers, which were compelled by escalating component costs, Apple has maintained stable product pricing, thereby bolstering its competitive edge. Anticipating price increases in the third quarter, some consumers have opted to purchase iPhones in advance. Furthermore, Apple has recently revised the prices of products such as Macs and iPads, attributing the changes to the rising costs of raw materials like storage. Consequently, there is a looming possibility of future price hikes for the iPhone 18 series.
