On the 17th (local time), Apple announced a price increase for iPhones in the Japanese market. Specifically, the price of the entry-level 256GB variant of the standard model in the iPhone 17 series, which was launched last September, has been raised from 129,800 yen to 142,800 yen, reflecting a 10% surge. The premium Pro series and the lightweight Air series models have also seen their prices go up uniformly by around 10%. This strategic adjustment is in response to the escalating costs of memory chips and the heightened import expenses resulting from the yen's depreciation.
