CATL has signed a memorandum of understanding with new energy integrator Alfen N.V., planning to deploy 5GWh Tianheng sodium-ion energy storage systems in Western European countries such as the Netherlands starting from 2027. The system will make its debut in Munich, Germany, in June 2026. Each unit can deliver a maximum energy capacity exceeding 30MWh, featuring a fully modular design, with a capacity retention rate exceeding 92% in -20℃ environments and an operating noise level of 65 decibels.
